Read this before installing on Mac or Windows

The desktop builds are not yet signed by Apple or Microsoft. Your OS will show a one-time security warning on first launch. This is expected. Follow the steps below to allow the app — you only need to do this once.

First launch on macOS

macOS Gatekeeper will block the app the first time. Here's how to allow it:

  1. Open EveEmpire.dmg and drag EveEmpire into Applications.
  2. Open the app — you will see "EveEmpire" Not Opened. Click Done.
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  4. Scroll down to "EveEmpire" was blocked to protect your Mac and click Open Anyway.
  5. Confirm with your password — the app now opens normally.
Prefer Terminal? One-liner alternative 
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/EveEmpire.app

First launch on Windows

SmartScreen will warn about an unknown publisher. Here's how to proceed:

  1. Run EveEmpire.msi.
  2. Windows Defender SmartScreen will show "Windows protected your PC".
  3. Click the small More info link in the dialog.
  4. A Run anyway button appears — click it.
  5. The installer proceeds normally — choose install location and finish.

Signing certificates for both platforms are planned but not yet in place. The app itself is identical to a signed build — only the publisher signature is missing.
